History
The Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK UNUD), together with the Faculty of Literature and Culture, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry, and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education were the forerunners of the establishment of Udayana University on August 17, 1962 based on the Decree of the Minister of Higher Education and Science (PTIK) Number 104 of 1962 on August 9, 1962.
Faculty of Medicine, Unud was the first Medical School in Bali, which was established at August 9th, 1962. Faculty of Medicine, Unud at early time only conducted medical education program that graduate general practitioner. Currently, Faculty of Medicine, Unud has 6 undergraduate programs (Bachelor degree), 4 profession programs, 20 residency programs, 3 master programs, and 1 doctoral program. Among these programs, 55.9% are accredited “Excellent”, 41.2% are accredited “Very good” and the remaining are accredited “Good” based on IAAHEH. In the present academic year, the number of active students is 5.075 coming from various regions in Indonesia and abroad. As a Faculty of Medicine located in Bali which is a world tourist destination, Faculty of Medicine has the Travel Medicine excellence implemented in the University Three Main Services.
Bachelor
of Medicine and Medical Doctor (BoMMD), Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University is
the transformation of Faculty of Medicine. In accordance with the number of
study program, the organizing of medical doctor education activity needs to be organized apart from the
faculty. In 2013, the organization of teaching and learning for medical doctor education
was transform into Bachelor of Medicine and Medical Doctor. In the present
academic year, the number of active students is 1330 coming from
various regions in Indonesia and abroad. In the past three years, BoMMD has 478
international students (7 degree and 471 non-degree/short courses) coming from
Malaysia, East Timor, Japan, Germany, England, France, Africa and USA. BoMMD is
supported by 214 academic staff, and 190 support staff. The average number of
lecturer publication is 670 per year at national and international level. In
2021, there were 31 student articles published in reputable international
journal indexed by scopus (Q3-Q4). In 2022, there were 49 student achievements at
the national level and 7 at the international level. BoMMD graduates have held
important position such as the prime minister, hospital director, lecturer in
world class university. Some alumni are continuing their study at the
prestigious universities.
The Bachelor of Medicine and Doctor Profession Study Program
(PSSKPD) has officially become one of the study programs since 2006, as
the beginning of the existence of a study program under the Faculty of
Medicine, Udayana University. The study program's operational permit was
last renewed by Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture Number:
204/E/O/2013 dated 29 August 2013. The Bachelor of Medicine and Doctor
Profession Study Program has been accredited A in accordance with the SK
from LAM-PTKes Number: 0148/LAM-PTKes /Akr/Sar/II/2022 dated 25
February 2022 which is valid until 24 February 2027.
FACULTY OF MEDICINE UDAYANA UNIVERSITY
