PSSKPD Udayana University students won a gold medal in Euroinvent 2022
The Euroinvent 2022 Gold Medal Won by the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University
Students from the Bachelor of Medicine Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, won gold medals in Euroinvent 2022 which was held in a hybrid manner from Iasi, Romania (25 to 28 May 2022).
Euroinvent is a competition and conference activity organized by the Romanian Inventor Forum (RIF) which will become the largest invention exhibition in Eastern Europe in 2021. The selection of Indonesian representatives in this event is the result of RIF's collaboration with the Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA), in publish, select, and recommend representatives from Indonesia to the event.
The five outstanding students who won gold medals were Aizar Vesa Prasetyo, I Gede Krisna Arim Sadeva, Putu Sinta Elix Wahyuni, I Gede Aswin Parisya Sasmana, and Putri Ayu Wulandari with their supervisor Dr. dr. Desak Made Wihandani, M.Kes., who also serves as Chair of the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
The work presented at this event was about administration of clove leaf essential oil in lowering blood glucose levels through a protective effect on pancreatic cells which was evaluated from pancreatic histopathological changes where an increase in islet and acinar cells was found. It was concluded that clove leaf essential oil has the potential to be a potential therapy for DM which is mediated by the effect of reducing glucose levels and protecting pancreatic cells.
In 2022, this activity will be held from 25 to 28 May 2022 in a hybrid manner which will be attended by more than 500 participants in more than 20 countries around the world.
